Operatives Raid Benny Hinn's Church Office, "Why They Came"

A day after criminal investigators from the IRS and inspectors from the U.S. Postal Service executed a closely guarded raid on the offices of his ministry in Grapevine, Texas, Wednesday, last week,  popular faith-healing televangelist Benny Hinn revealed they are looking into "certain operations of the church."

Hinn did not go into much detail about which aspects of his ministry federal officials are reviewing, but in a statement on Facebook he said he's confident the investigation will end favorably.

"As has been widely reported, Benny Hinn Ministries is cooperating fully with the governmental entities that are reviewing certain operations of the Church. The ministry has undergone intense scrutiny over the years, and we remain confident that there will again be a positive and speedy outcome in the days ahead," the statement said.

A new report says that violent attacks on the Christian minority in India are increasing at an alarming rate, as the emboldened members of groups close to the governing Hindu nationalist party seek to create a "Hindu nation." There's an anti-Christian attack every 40 hours, the report highlights.

 

The report by the All India Christian Council says attacks against Christians increased by about 20 percent in 2016, and physical violence against Christians was up by as much as 40 percent. A fresh attack is being reported every 40 hours, it added.

"The attacks have become severe and more frequent. Incidents used to be confined to a few states. Now the violence has spread to 23 states," the report notes, pointing out that the sharpest rise has been recorded in the northern Uttar Pradesh state and the southern state of Telangana.

7 Christian Leaders Arrested Protesting Trump's Budget Proposal on Capitol Hill

 

Seven left-leaning Christian leaders have been  arrested  after protesting inside of a congressional office building on Capitol Hill, Washington,  in opposition to President Donald Trump's "immoral" budget proposal.

The seven detainees were a part of a large group of left-leaning Mainline Protestant leaders who demonstrated outfront of the United Methodist Building on Maryland Avenue around noon Monday as part of the annual "

After a handful of faith leaders representing the United Methodist Church, the Presbyterian Church (USA), the United Church of Christ, the Progressive National Baptist Convention and other organizations spoke outside the Methodist building, those gathered prayed for Congress to reject Trump's budget proposal, saying that it "invests in war at the expense of poor and marginalized people."

Matthew Kukah, Catholic bishop of Sokoto diocese, says the anti-corruption efforts of the Muhammadu Buhari administration lacks a clear strategy and “proper understanding of the enemy”.

The cleric says the President is still stuck with a mindset of his military days.

Kukah said this in an interview with PUNCH when he was asked if he still had doubts about the government’s anti-corruption war.

The Catholic bishop said he is against the metaphor of “war” as a strategy to fight corruption.

South African Court denies Nigerian pastor, Tim Omotosho bail!

South Africa Magistrate’s Court has denied a Pastor Tim Omotosho, a Nigerian, bail who was arraigned for alleged sexually abusing 30 female members of his congregation.

The 58-year-old Nigerian miracle worker, Pastor Tim Omotosho, the senior pastor of the Jesus Dominion International, was arrested in South Africa.
The pastor based in Durban, who was arrested inside the toilet at the Port Elizabeth Airport shortly after his flight landed,He was arraigned in court on Friday and was denied bail.

The police alleged that Mr. Omotoso over the years trafficked about 30 young girls from various branches of his church to a house in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal where he allegedly exploited them sexually.

It was further gathered that he allegedly handpicked the girls and instructed them to live in his house where they were forced to have unprotected sex with him.

Meanwhile, he appeared in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court yesterday where his case was postponed to May 3.

Mr. Omotoso, who is the founder of a 24-hour satellite TV station, Ancient of Days Broadcasting Network (ADBN), which is aired across the Caribbean, Africa, Mexico, Middle East, Europe and the United States, is married and has three children.

Russia’s Supreme Court Rules Against Jehovah’s Witnesses

After six days of hearings over the last two weeks, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation today upheld the claim submitted by the Ministry of Justice to liquidate the Administrative Center of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia and 395 Local Religious Organizations (LROs) used by Witnesses throughout Russia. The ruling goes into effect immediately.
“We are greatly disappointed by this development and deeply concerned about how this will affect our religious activity,” states Yaroslav Sivulskiy, a spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia.
“We will appeal this decision, and we hope that our legal rights and protections as a peaceful religious group will be fully restored as soon as possible.”

Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia have 30 days to submit their appeal for consideration by a three-person panel.

THE Israelites were in danger as they entered the region of Sinai early in 1513 B.C.E. A fear-inspiring trek lay before them, a journey through a “vast and terrible wilderness infested with poisonous snakes and scorpions.” (Deuteronomy 8:15) They also faced the threat of attack by hostile nations. God whose name is Jehovah had brought his people into this situation. As their God, would he be able to protect them?

God’s words were most reassuring, Exodus 19:4 says “Ye have seen what I did onto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagle’s wings, and brought you unto myself”. God reminded his people that he had delivered them from the Egyptians, using eagles, as it were, to carry them to safety. But there are other reasons why “wings of eagles” fittingly illustrate divine protection.

The eagle uses its broad, strong wings for more than just soaring aloft. In the heat of the day, a mother eagle will arch her wings—which may span over seven feet (2 m)—to form a protective umbrella, shielding her tender nestlings from the scorching sun. At other times, she wraps her wings around her offspring to protect them from the cold wind. Just as the eagle safeguards its young, so God’s had shielded and protected the fledgling nation of Israel. Now in the wilderness, his people would continue to find refuge in the shadow of his mighty wings as long as they remained faithful. But can we today rightly expect God’s protection?
